Yep, I’m still pregnant! Happy Due Date, sweet little baby. We’re very excited to meet you, but take your time and come out whenever you’re ready to meet us.
I’m now 8.5 months pregnant! It’s hard to believe, time has flown and now baby is due in exactly 2 weeks. Wow. Actually, he may not be that patient. Baby dropped down into my pelvis and has been engaged for more than two weeks now, and I haven’t been able to properly walk and move about ever since. I have also been having recurring belly cramps in the morning for two days now… They go later in the day, so I don’t think we’re there yet and it’s just my body getting ready for labor. But who knows, he could be ready to meet us anytime now. Today, tomorrow, next week? We’ll find out soon enough. I’m sure.
That’s right, baby is full term now! Yesterday, we hit the 37 week mark. He is little over 3 kilo now and that may not sound heavy, but sure feels like it is. Baby has dropped and his head is engaged, making breathing easier and walking and moving about a lot, a lot, a lot harder. First, of all I’ve officially started waddling in the last week; I fit in really well with all those ducks in the park here. Also, I’ve been needing lots of help getting up from the bed, the floor, the couch, and doing things like put on my socks. Oh well, it’s all part of pregnancy and even though it’s inconvenient I’m still so happy and content to be in this position. I get to be a mommy soon and I can’t be more delighted about it.
One more week and baby is done baking, he’ll be full term then. After that it just depends on how crispy he wants to be when he comes out of this mommy oven. I’m hoping he will stay in at least for 40 weeks, because we’re really not ready for his arrival yet.
I love making things from felt, but it feels like it has been forever since I’ve been creative. When we lived in the States, I made plush animals and pdf patterns all day, I loved it. I had oodles of time since I wasn’t allowed to work there, but I am allowed to work here in the UK, and I do, full-time. So ever since we moved to this country my felt endeavours have been on a back burner, very very far back.
I know Thanksgiving in November is an American thing and that we no longer live in the States, but we’ve decided to celebrate Thanksgiving this year anyways, with our English neighbors. And I’ve been thinking about Thanksgiving recipes, so I’ve got turkey on my mind. Hence the giveaway owl is a Turkey Owl!
Most Halloween parties of 2013 have already happened over the weekend, but Halloween is not over yet. So let’s make some Halloween Skull Ornaments together!
This tutorial will show you how to stitch one by hand, but of course you can also use the template below to make skull ornaments with a sewing machine. They will look slightly different, the green skull ornament in the photo above is hand stitched, the orange one is (mostly) machine stitched. This template is for your felt shapes. Print the template and resize it into the size you’d like your skull ornament to be.
