Happy 2nd birthday our little big man! We had a great birthday party. First, we celebrated it in Japan with Oma, Opa, and Akiko on your birthday. We flew back to the UK the next day, and celebrated again with your friends on the 6th of May. On your birthday, we went to the Anpanman museum, and had a Shotani cake. In the Anpanman museum, although we all were tired from all the exciting days in Japan (everyday we did something very fun, and you screamed from joy), we managed to see a dance show on the ground floor, the public area, and saw another show in the museum.
Happy 1.5th birthday! I know you think Mommy and Daddy are just too happy to celebrate you every minute, but that’s what we feel. Your first life stage was in Buxton, then you turned 1 year old in Derby. You learn and grow so fast, every time you show us something new you can do, it just makes us happiest. You are constantly renewing our happiest record :).
Dear 1-year-old Babel,
Happy 1 year birthday, Babel! We just can’t believe it has been 1 year already since you were born. We can still clearly remember the day you were born, and how happy you made us feel. Not only Mommy and Daddy, but also Oma Lia, Japanese Oma & Opa, and other family members. You met them in person in their countries (i.e., your countries). You went to the Netherlands for Christmas and New Year’s, and Japan in March. Everyone held and kissed you with a big smile, and just loved you so much. Mommy and Daddy were just happy to be able to show a new member of our families to them.
Dear Babel, it’s been 6 months and a half since you were born. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone, but strangely at the same time, I feel I’ve known you for much more than 6.5 months. Day by day, you get bigger, taller, cuter, smilier, smarter, and wiser.
Dear Babel, I started writing this on the 8th of June 2015, you were 6 weeks and 2 days old. You started to say something back to us with sounds. That’s very cute. The day before, I experienced that for the first time. I was so happy and jumped in the nursery room, and the whole floor shook. Mommy and Oma Moem were laughing so hard. It was the first time we responded to each other, I couldn’t contain myself.
Dear ‘Aka-chan’ [baby in Japanese],
It is a great time to write how I feel about having you in this world since Mommy has started to wobble and tell me that she feels pain in any movement.
For some reason, University of Derby has graduation ceremonies in January. Because there are so many departments and graduates, the ceremonies have been taking place all week. The programmes I’m in charge of are Counselling-related, and were awarded on the last day.
